He has not only been a long-time supporter of APN's, but a dedicated mentor as well. Interested applicants can contact me at aryan@schosp.org, and I will forward your resume.

Please see his email regarding this wonderful opportunity:

I am medical director at a long-term care facility for medically complex children on Chicago's north side and am looking for a PNP to help care for our residents. The position will be open at the end of the summer, it is full-time but part-time would be considered.  Salary is competitive.

This is an unusual career opportunity to care for a small number of physically and cognitively disabled pediatric patients in a single facility.  Long-term and palliative care is not difficult to learn at any experience level; I will support you and you will encounter a variety of consulting specialists in the local pediatric tertiary care community.  You need competent clinical skills to manage the day to day issues, as well as strong organization and communication skills to coordinate their care. This is a largely marginalized population in our health care system, and the challenges we all face in regards to resource utilization and staffing are magnified in this setting. These patients need our care, our advocacy and our commitment.

I'm looking for any PNP interested in or willing to learn about long term pediatric care. Although many providers imagine working with this population to be emotionally difficult, it's actually quite fun and gratifying, and you will truly make a difference in the lives of these kids.

Thanks for your consideration of this opportunity.
